They're here

Post by wheelman1976 » Fri May 24, 2013 7:23 pm

Well after some stops and starts and a rise in my blood pressure I finally managed to procure my larger specimen windmills. Here's some photos of this afternoon. After getting them in the ground it's finally starting to hit me, boxes this winter are going to be a pain in the butt.....

From Mike in Cananda. We had some poor communication from the shipper that the broker used but in the end I was able to get them in time. They almost sat in the terminal for the weekend but Mike's broker located them and they turned out to be closer to my house than my place of work that I was going to have them sent to.

Very nice. After I got mine from Mike I'm now scouting locations for next years order ;)

I have been the talk of the neighbourhood this year thats for sure. (4.5' retaining wall back filled my back yard new walkway and stairs and then the palm tree)

Looks like you have a perfect back drop the trees and the lake. Looks like a few frosty beverages could be consumed out there...

Thanks everyone, I'm already thinking of my winter protection options.... I hate the idea of the cost but I'm thinking 3/4 inch treated may be the best long term option as the wood won't rot out and may be easier to handle vs my heavy doors I have currently.

I still have some work to do to make the landscaping look a bit more natural and to bring the dirt line up to the top of the root ball. I found it's a lot easier to dig a small hole and plop the tree in it and then just mound the soil up around it. Now my only problem is if I'll enough dirt to back fill.
