Hey Jim, what a nice visit to your town.
Really enjoyed that, thank you.

Love the tree-shaded streets, great architecture and the town square.
My town's planning to build a town square...only 100 years late

What does M.U.M. mean? Is it a university?

Quiet town...or everybody hiding indoors at 104 F ????
Looks like all flat lands...how far away is winter skiing?

Your corn is so much taller than the cornfields here...ours is only 3 feet tall (cow-corn) from our cold spring and heavy rainfall events.

Great wall of privacy you've built with the Castors.

and yup...that fiddleleaf is a steal at $5.00.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

The corn looks better than it is,the corn ears look like little cigars

Thanks Barb

MUM is a campus of meditators,a college to boot.....

it was 7:25ish in the morning, not to much traffic.

I always wanted a Fiddle leaf fig since I was a kid,
always thought they were cool-fun to have one now and
it looks like it is ready to grow :)

btw
Be cool if the Dumb cane stayed that lime green color...take care

Jim - I used to clean a house for an east indian family who had a 25 foot tall fiddle fig (they had high vaulted ceilings). The husband told me he brought it from india, from a tree in his parents yard that was hundreds of years old! Dispite the size, it was only in a 4 gallon pot!!!!!!

ITs hard to get thos dieffenbachia to keep the proper colour. Too much shade they stop growing, and too much light they turn bright green.

Tim - Dawn redwood get hit my lightning all the time from what ive read. It snapps the top off, and it regrows. Probably why that tree has a strange shape. Still very gorgeous trees!

Tim

It may have had the lead branch snapped by ice or something, this
is somewhat common in ice storms here..with those conifers...you know...
with all those dang little needles and such, they do tend to collect the ice

I will take a closer look sometime when it's safe to be outside! :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :blob6: :blob6: :blob6: :angry4: :angry4: :angry4: :angry4:

We have plenty of non thinkers here...well,only think of themselves...same thing :D

It does make for a peaceful community when 5000 people-or so-sit down to meditate at 5pm

We got .18" last night, enough to wet the ground and raise the humidity for a day :(

This has been brutal-I need to get some pics of the suffering, the Hostas are almost dead back to the ground.

Thanks Jack

I always chuckle a little if I don't make a traffic light the first time here
....because it happens once or twice a year :D

One thing that is fun about living in a small town is,once I get my stuff on a job
I can usually just ride my bike to where ever I am working,it somehow doesn't feel
like work if you get to ride your bike :) I think the last time I came back from Az
I only put like 500 miles on my car in a year.

Some people here don't even use their cars, they always ride their bike

The picture with the band shell reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode called, "Willoughby".

If you have not seen it, look it up. Trust me, it is a compliment. 8)

What is a band shell?

I watched the first half of that episode on youtube.......
could not find the second half but i did see the last 2 minutes.

I moved here for some of the reasons the conductor mentioned to him
when he was describing the town and I have not been disappointed......

Hey look-the Fiddle leaf fig I got at Wally world for $5 is already growing
