Thanks Barb,

I figure he's kind of a Mongoloid type person anyways, so when he talks he'll probably only help my cause with ridiculous expectations of what he thinks might happen on my property anyways. I'm pretty sure his simpleton mind is thinking that I'm going to be the new walmart of the tropical plants, taking over my neighborhood with big business on my huge 8900sq ft lot. It's time for me to move anyways, but I really want this before I go.

I'll stop harping now, time to be positive from now on out, which I was before he confronted me a few nights ago.

I'm going to try and put together a short story of my home (condemned) before I bought it to now. It will take some doing since it's all film but that might be a nice spin for some feedback from you guys on overall improvement to a property.

Let me know if you guys are interested in that.

Thanks,

Bill

bill - Your description of him is pretty good LOL. SOunds like one of those " im american deal with it" people whos more worried about other people then how he comes of himself, to others. Ignore him untill the hearing ( then again, if its anything like it is here, itll ger remanded for a year before just getting droped).

Dont worry about harpin either. Rather harp on here then set his house on fire cause you held in the anger LOL ( although, its much more satisfying then talking, but more illegal so... LOL)

Id honestly like to see that vid myself. It looks like lots of work has been done to it. It isnt condemned now is it?

Take it easy dude

Bill,

There's one in every neighbourhood.
You simply have to stay one step ahead of him.
Sounds like that part will be easy

Facts: seasonal business; internet based vs walk-in/drive-in traffic; no increased noise levels; no late operating hours.
In other words, the neighbourhood hasn't changed one iota.
The bugger probably makes more noise than you do with just his family.

As to displaying palms, presumably for sale, the ones that are visible from the road ARE NOT for sale...they're your personal and private landscaping.
The stuff that's for sale is in the GH  and nobody can see clearly what's inside.

I suspect you'll "outstay" him in the neighbourhood; he doesn't sound like the type of fella with any staying power, i.e. job/income, rent payments, etc. etc.

For him to lash out like that, he's just diverting his own problems onto someone else's shoulder.

You'll be fine.

And if the whole thing goes sideways, THEN send in the F-15s.

Chin up, buddy! :D

Hey Jesse,

No the house was conceded when I bought it in 2000, then my father and I gutted it and put it back together.

Yeah Paul , my idiot neighbour doesn't like my palms or protection I put up for 3 months or so. He thinks my property is going to become a retail center, sounds realistic right. I'll be fine though.

Thanks again everyone.

Bill

Bill, how are you preparing for the hearing in a couple of weeks?
You've gotta be one step ahead of whatever might be mentioned (take it from me...I know).

Thankfully you've got some time to work on it.

Barb

PS--maybe the troublesome neighbor will forget to attend. :hello1:

There must be an update on the hearing by now.

Sheesh...hope everything went OK with the lame-brain neighbor and officials.
Maybe the guy didn't even show up?
That would've been good for Bill.

Interesting. Except when our former neighbors got a bit edgy about the protection cages (they were selling their house), nobody even notices my palms. A contractor was by on Saturday to give me a siding removal estimate. Stood right next to my Butia and never even glanced.

If its an internet based business, I cannot believe someone would care.

If its an internet based business,
That's what Bill has to focus on...

The lame-brain probably complained because Bill's place was getting too beautiful, making neighbor's place look like a dump.

For Bill's sake we hope the moron moves (I think he was just renting?)

My understanding is that Bill can sell for 3or4 months a year....
I think thats what he said-

I'll let him explain it when he gets done watering

Bill can sell for 4 months a year.
Good!
I hadn't heard about that...was that a ruling by the officials?

4 months? sounds like they were born in Canada

Great job once again bill . I love all the large palms around your place. I did see a few not quite deep enough in the back of your house that leads me to believe you hit a big rock when digging the hole or they are for sale. Good job -look forward to seeing your website soon
Cheers
CoconutMike-p.s I guess your dad is gonna have to give you a hand again putting all those bad boys to sleep for the winter HA-Ha

Can someone tell me what the palm is that is on the far left of the very first photo in this thread? Is it cold hardy to any degree if given winter protection? That thing has some awesome character!

That palm on the left is a Washingtonia robusta. It's still alive....I was at Bills a few weeks ago. His Washy's are protected in winter with heat. Washingtonia filifera is hardier but more difficult to obtain......try to get a W. filifera.
