Wow, Mark!

My two Sagos aren't even thinking about flushing yet.

Well done.

Nice Mark!!!
Did you give it nitrogen bath or did it do it on it's own? Either way very cool. I think you'll get another flush by the end of
summer like Jim said.

I just miracle grow everything over the winter. We've had a lot of sunny days recently. I think that's what did it.

I have a couple of these, one a bit larger than yours (Mark) and another that must be double that size. Neither one flushed last year dispite it being one of the best summers on record. I'll have to shoot some fertilizer on them this spring and see what happens.
As a side note, a fellow enthusiast that specailizes in Cycads told me these prefer a permanant north - south orientaition. I've marked the lip of the pots to designate north so if I move them around I know which way to place them.

Cheers. Barrie.

Barrie,

Yes. I've heard the same thing with orientation and that also fronds will twist. I do try to keep it the same. Price tag on Pot. lol

Nice, Mark.
They look very robust.
a fellow enthusiast that specailizes in Cycads told me these prefer a permanant north - south orientaition
Lori Pickering of Jurassic Plants Nursery told me the same thing about north/south orientation for Dioon edule.
Something about it "spiralling out of plane/axis".

Moving right along indeed, that looks great!
Be careful of the sun when you put it outside
the first time.

Barrie

I had one that didn't flush for 2 years-it was going
on it's 3rd when I turned the gas on!

I started hitting it with lawn fertilizer, within a few days it was flushing.
Last year it was doing nothing again-out with the lawn fertilizer and boom!

flushed again

I expereinced the same vigour once I had my cycads, but telling you the truth, these leaves are tenfold more beautiful and beter arranged than what mines were. Well done!

Thanks Rob!

I'm just totally amazed with it! Compare to the other fronds they are double or triple the size. The picture doesn't even really give it justice as compared to looking at it live!

Nice Triangle (or Spindle) palm behind it too.

Yep Spindle.

I'll have to take some more pics of the rest of my palms.

Big Queen palms went out Tuesday. Now we're supposed to have lows in the 30s next few nights. Oh well. The larger one is looking sad right now. Almost afraid to post pics of them :x

But I will
