Cheshire.... open your profile and go to signature. Open up a new tab on wunderground and search your nearest location. Follow instructions and copy and paste to the signature column. There are different weather profiles to chose from.

We've had a mild spring day today 18C... good shirt sleeve order and with high pressure in charge no more rain for the foreseeable future except Scotland of course. Good to see most of you are in positive temperatures now. The rising Sun's strength will win out in the end :D

Well considering the crap weather you've had this Winter....I'm impressed. The hardiest Furcraea will only do -8C so that was to be expected. BTW your Trachycarpus looks mint, mine looks like its been dragged through a hedge backwards with all the storms we've had.

Barb.... We don't have "cold buildings" over here. They are usually full of legal and illegal immigrants who live in outbuildings run by unscrupulous landlords. London is a big problem for this. But there's an idea for you :lol:

I pay £104 per month for gas and Electricity. I use gas for Central Heating and hot water and Electricity for Cooking and lights of course. When my Wife complains of cold, she goes on the running machine for an hour, not that i'm a scrooge of course :D

Yikes.... I don't think I'll ever complain about cold weather again here. I feel embarrassed to say its been a Zone 9 Winter so far and being on higher ground have managed to escape the flooding .

Tim.... I have found Fatsia Japonica more hardy than Fatsia Polycarpa. I do not have any of the variegated versions of Fatsia Japonica but understand that they are slightly more tender. Just -3.5C here :D One bonus for me is that my new neighbours 30ft Conifers have been chopped as has virtually everything else giving me some extra sunlight in my rather darkened Winter garden. A stormy day is forecast for Christmas day and cold weather has been put back from mid to end of January :?

it is a beautiful feather palm with supposed hardiness. I bought one a few years ago and it died after -5/6C. No it is not in any way hardy in my opinion. I have a pic of mine on my old laptop which I will upload.
