It is OK. I have kept it inside but it fell over and can not stand on it's own. Not sure what has happened. It did grow numerous pads last summer, perhaps it is still too small to support all of the new pads. That's why I didn't plant it outside yet. I will once it recovers, if it does. I was also c...

I hope to add some more but I want to see how these ones make out first. I also expect them to grow and fill in most of the left over space so I may need to start another one somewhere else in the garden.

I finally got around to planting my cacti garden.
I am still nervous about planting my agave in the ground with all of th rain we get. I might try it this year.

If it is still standing then it should be OK. If it collaspes then that trunk has been cut down to the ground but may stiill send a shoot out once you cut it to where it is still hard and not mushy. They also may produce some pups. They are very root hardy.

Barrie,
Why did it die off? I thought this species of yucca was hardy here?
I almost bought a 15 gallon one from Maple Leaf for $250.00 but decised it was too expensive so I didn't. I would hate to spend that kind of money and have it die on me.

Vancouver is very expensive. My poor kids will never be able to afford to live here. I guess we will just have to add to our home because they will never move out now.

Very warm and sunny today. Trachies are putting out new fronds.

You are lucky to be able to get cycads so easily and to be able to grow so many species outside. I just checked my c. panzi and it survived our cold snap easily. It looks like a winner for the PNW.

This year however I am still in a zone 9b. Hope it lasts.

Two species that come to mind are coccothrinax and Thrinax Radiata. They have simliar fronds, petitoles and again when you strip a fortunei, the trunks look siml...
