I used steel fence posts, but 3 of 'em, and just sat them on the ground, tied at the top like a teepee.
Saves on sparks.

Yeah, not surprised it adhered. One Fall after erecting the big palm hut, I noticed slivers of daylight at the joined sections. Armed with a spray foam can, I sprayed every inch along fitted and screwed panels, The carpenter, next spring, had to use one of those huge heavy hammers to get the panels ...

Holy Toledo, Jim, 52 days below freezing  Incredible results! Palms look like they were beginning to lean a bit for light but they look better than fabulous! Very impressive. Look at everything bustin' out of the cactus enclosure! :bounce: :compress: No signs of damaging humidity build-up. Co...

We hit -21C (if I recall correctly) once or twice in November and -19C in December. Seldom above zero, even when close to it. But the day 2 feet of snow arrived all at once, I think, suffocated everything, breaking the little Euro's stem. No big deal, I have more  Jim, yeah that Princeps will b...

Yeah, downsizing...certainly holds appeal. Your cactus area is spectacular, will be good to have it exposed to some breezes with the ends open. And seeing those palms opened up will be exciting. Princeps is one of my favs. A shame you've got spear damage on the B.armata. Hope it bounces back with re...

Me too, Jim, I ran out of lights and materials to cover. Basically said Sayonara in Fall when I last walked past them. And frankly, loving the look of feather and palmate-leafed palms as I do, there was no longer any appeal for me with Needles. Mine looked like a bag of crap when I gave it to John. ...

Jim, What a relief that stuff's melting and almost gone. Glad to see the Princeps and Waggie looking good as always. Absolutely gorgeous palms! The needles will come back I bet. Glad also to see someone else who left a Sabal uncovered unprotected. Thought I was the only one to do that:  <a hre...

Hey Keith, hi! Yeah, it was early to uncover stuff, but sometimes it's a toss-up getting rid of the plastic covers and all that unwanted humidity. Our south facing place was pretty warm, nice to have Tshirt weather in the afternoons. Saw that -9C forecast but nothing's getting covered again here. Ho...
