In the winter, Vegas at day is much more different than at night. You can go from wearing short sleeves to parkas in a matter of hours  . That's if you ever get out of the casinos.

BTW, thanks oppalm for the metric conversion.

Update on palms

I've now had my palms in place for a couple of weeks and noticed that the one farthest from the window has a few yellow or dried out leaves while the plant closest to the window looks the same as it did when I bought. I'm not sure why the one further away is doing it ? Any ideas? Thanks Phil :shaking:

Chamaedorea Cataractarum

:hello1: I just bought a couple of Cat palms yesterday and was wondering if anyone has tips, suggestions, comments and/or thoughts on these palms :?:

I have one placed near a south facing window and the other in the opposite side of the same room about 17' from the window.

Thanks

I'm certainly no expert, however If you are considering this approach I would cover the entire pot. I believe that plants left in pots are more susceptible to the cold compared to plants growing in the ground.

magick9642/mamol,

I would add to magick9642 proceedure by enclosing structure with a waterproof tarp. It's very important to keep your bananas dry through the winter. Also, it doesn't hurt to use a copper based fungicide before you wrap the whole thing up.
