Thanks for the replies. The banana seems to do well facing east under the overhang. So I might trim a couple pups off later. Also yes Barb I am interested in seedlings. give me a shout when you are ready.
thanks

It also has 4 pups of various sizes, was wondering if I should cut some or all of the pups off the main plant? It is looking a little cro...

It has pups coming up on the sides, the fronds are straight not curled. I know windmill does not have pups. Maybe mediterrean f...

pruning palm tree

Hello, I was wondering about pruning the dead or half dead fronds that were damaged over winter on my palm tree. Is it a good idea or will it hurt the tree. new growth in center looks nice and green. Have attached a couple of pics. thanks. Keith http://s19.postimage.org/s1nldrmin/DSCN0882.jpg http:/...

Hey Adam and Barb I found a picture of my palm from last summer. Check it out and let me know what you think. I did not notice droppy leaves. It is a better picture than the one from this spring.

Hi Barb. I was looking at photos of Livistona chinensis and they are saying the leaves curl at the end. this one is normally all straight, just right now a few are drooping from overwintering. Yes and I bought it at home depot, was looking to see if tag was still there.

I thought I was the only person crazy enough to grow palms and other tropicals in Vernon. I pulled on the bottom of the plant it seems very solid. What type of plants you got growing. The only two tropicals that I have outside are the windmill palm and a musa basjoo banana, which I may uncover today...

unwrapped my windmill

Unwrapped my windmill palm on Wednesday. I used heat tape, then burlap, and finally shrink wrap.I am in zone 5a or b. It looks brown in spots and green in others. I looks green on the newer growth at bottom. Wonder if I should spray with fungacide or not. Here is the pictures. http://s19.postimage.o...
