Tim, it looks dead. I was out inspecting my magnolia edith bogue today and noticed it looked rotten in some areas. Well, most the "flexible" buds broke right off and everything was brown/mushy inside. I did some research on how to find live material on woody plants, and I guess if you scra...

Trachy looking great!! Not even minor damage to the emerging spear. Last year I had the yellow ring of damage on first two fronds. This year two fronds have pushed out already and both look pristine! This thing is gonna get huge this year!! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/wxman81/5ae93065.jpg ...

Picked this up at Menards a few days ago. Stuffed it full with my tropicals and some flower seed flats. It's 75 in there with a dewpoint of 70 while it is only 51.3 outside! Next year I'm setting it up mid March and stuffing it full. Should be able to get huge robust plants before its even...

Southern Magnolia Experts -- Dieback?

I'm wondering if one of my stems is dying back. While it previously looked fine, one of the buds appears to have shriveled up a bit. Also there is some discoloration appearing on the stem. Trachy uncovered for almost a week - Insane forecast inside!

We may be going for the warmest March ever! Almost constant 60s/70s for highs for next week and a half when the normals are low 40s/mid 20s for highs/lows. We will end up being fully leafed out by April 1st if this continues - 30 days early! And of course, a picture. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums...
