We pay around 7.5 cents for 1 kw/h in Québec, i think it s becasuse we have lot of hydro-electricity.....

Its gonna be 38F today and 40F tomorrow with more then an inches of rain :shock: ...all over that snow we have here, and 38F for saturday. The snow will finally start to melt :D .....then cooling down Under the normal average for next week :cry: ...

You re right Mike, i saw that last summer when i went to Long Branch, NJ, i stopped at the fuel station and started to pump gas to my car and the guy looked at me and said nothing. While pumping gas, i saw the note on the pump that im not allowed to serve myself :shock: ...a little oups i said :lol:...

Sure the box method is the best for now, but i try to find another way to protect bigger palms. With the wrapping, i think it s the way to do that! I used heattape, it warm to about 50c, maybe it burn some leaves who touched directly the cable. I try the LED lights cordon (for Christmas decoration),...

I sprayed the palms with fongicide/bactericide before, there s a space of about 1-2 inches between the palm and the protection. Thats allow the moisture to go to the ground. And i made an opening on the side and the top of the protection to allow some ventilation. And for now it work not to bad :win...

Yeap, me too...-26c last night...i count at least 20 nights Under the -20c...never seen that before. Usually its 4-6 nights :shock: ....

But next week it will warm up over the freezing point :D ...

There s a thing i don t understand, you guy's living in the northern USA, why you just dont go living in the South states ? If i was born in the NY state, sure ill go live in Florida :wink: . I think we just have to do the same thing as we re doing for an house. In order : palm tree-heatcable-vapor barier or the insulation for hotwater reservoir(that contain an vapor barier)-pinkpanther fiberglass insulation (2-3 inches) then tarp. With that we should be in business :D ...

FYI, the temperature Under 4 inches of pinkpanther insulation (fiberglass) is 10c more than the outside temperature. I placed the probe between the 4 inches insulation and the hotwater reservoir insulation and i get 10c gain. The heatcable is located between the trunck and the hotwater reservoir ins...

No snow here since 3 weeks :D ...but bariely cold, now its -30c :shock: ....we had at least 8-10 nights Under the -20c mark, never saw that since a lot of year. Normally we have 4-5 night Under -20c in a normal winter. But this year its amazing...no nights over -25c till saturday :shock: ....high be...
