My experience has been that the warmer temps - between 90-95F - result in better and quicker germination of almost all species. I know thats a general statement, but seems you can't go wrong with warmer temps for germination. I ma getting ready to paly the germination game for the next few months. F...

Every now and then they'll put a palm on a closeoput price and you can pick up a great deal, and that, my friend, looks like a good deal.I have not been there for a few motnhs, looks like a sh...

Most of us live a long way from tropical breezes. However, that does not mean we can't try to grow the prize of the tropical beach - the cocos nucifera. Here's a picture of my coco. Show us yours.

I think they would want you to have the seeds. In fact next time you go you should take a tree climbing harness with you and shimmy up the trees with a 6 pack of beer and hoot and holler when you get to the top, grab some seeds, throw your empty cans at the security personnel that has gathered below...

mike - where did you get the 30X30X18 structure. got a website. Nice work. You have a pool in your back yard, I'd bet if you kept the heater in it set to a reasonable temp and had your structure over it, that would keep the temps pretty nice inside the structure.
