Great pics Jim. I`m thinking of planting one of my Ensete Maurelli. How much of a rootball do you dig up with it in the fall? Does it get repotted it or does it go into cold storage roots exposed? Thanks.

Thanks Mike. We have only got to 28c once so far this spring. A cooler than normal spring usualy means a scorching 40c summer 8) . Thanks Jim and Tim for your comments. Thanks Aaron. Barb the BOP needs to be transplanted this spring. It is only 1 ft 1/2 from the ceiling now. I might have to lean it over his fall to make it fit. :o

Barb I still have all the bananas in the palm garage :lol: The BOP if it keeps growing like it is I`ll have to cut a hole in the garage ceiling soon! They will all be coming out in the next week or so.

Thanks Barb. This is a hobby nursery so I like the fact it is more casual than all the palms in rows. With the warm weather now people will thinking palms and bananas.

Erik Lookin good. I wish they were just a little cold hardier here. The larger bluer fronds when they get older look better than S. minor IMO. Thanks for the pics.

Here is a video of my collection of potted palm trees. A few will be planted this year as I need to make room and they are root bound. Most of the larger Washy`s will be sold. Tim it is a variegated form of Y.gloriosa. I bought two of these a few years back and will plant the other soon. Not sure of the specific type of Y. gloriosa it is. Beny and Mike you guys are miles ahead of us here in south central B.C. Just from seeing what you guys can accomplish in Montreal. I am planting two 15 gal. B.capitata and two B.eriospatha. Those palms look great! Beny how cold did the Sabal palmetto get with the protection?

Adam I`m sure that this palm is different than a regular Trachy. Barb I bought this palm along with 20 others a few years ago. They looked all the same, or so I thought? It will be interesting to see if it flowers this year. Hope it`s a female. I would like to get seeds from it.

Barb they have been planted there for over five years now as 10 gal. He bought them in Vancouver. They definitely have seen some cold over that time. I drive by frequently to see how they are doing. Now I really want some big ones like these. :)

Aaron you guys are so much farther ahead of what we have here. The fact that you can get trunking Yuccas shipped up from Nevada cheap is a big plus. We have few Y. rostrata in Kelowna that are 6 ft. tall. Not nearly enough IMO. Thanks for the pics.

Mike it`s a good feeling when the protection comes off and everything looks like your video. I`m surprised that Basjoo made it through with so little heat. How much of that mulch was piled up around the stem? Thanks for the update.
