Well,I think the combination of late evening light and....

Outside...if you can find something like a thermocube there(turns on heat/power @35F/on,turns power off @45F)...these make it really easy to overwinter if you need supplemental heat as I do here, the only other thing is to watch it doesn't overheat but even that is tough with a Washy,I saw the temp 1...

Thanks guys...the ones that are dead/damaged
would not be moved so I saw no point in covering them...

Thinking of replacing the larger Nainital and Fortunei
that bit it with the big variegated Aloifolia and my
other larger Aloifolia, easier to protect if needed and
much more hardy...maybe. :D

The size of the palms matters too in regard to when they can be uncovered,Trachys(Fortunei) with 2'+ to 3' trunks can be outside for 3 to 7 days in temps in the20F (lows) 35F (highs) range.. .smaller Trachys should not be left out in temps that are much below freezing at first. Nainital was let go due to the shade it casts on the cactus bed & because it would not be moved if I find a house around here. <a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea641/media/orbea641096/DSCF0529_zpscxot3359.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photob...

I think those take a while to adjust normally anyway... but having the roots get chilly can be a death sentence after repotting/transplanting. It's probably not practical at heir size to keep them someplace warm like inside the house but thats what the roots need. When I got my first 3 Fortunei Nov ...

pulling palms and storing them in a

the cool damaged roots can rot out.
