Barb,
Thanks for the link! I have about 20 packages of Zamia vazquezii pollen in my deep freeze.
Here's the article that explains the procedure http://www.plantapalm.com/vce/horticulture/pollen.htm
Not sure if I can cross them, but good practice if nothing else

Erik, The large one is outside, and the seedling has remained in the greenhouse (I lost a small one to wind a couple years ago, so I'm taking no chances) They love the heat, we've been above 100F for the past week or so, you could just about sit down in a chair and watch them grow :D Thanks Aaron, B...

Erik, Asian scale would make your plant look like it was covered in snow, some photos at this link. http://www.plantapalm.com/centralfl/asian_cycad_scale.htm Common brown scale will sometimes show up on Sagos, just check the bottom of the fronds. Here is Tom's article on using coffee grounds, http:/...

Erik, To me, it seems the larger Sago's take about a year in ground to properly establish themselves. It might be worthwhile to find a couple larger containers to leave them in year round, or maybe pot plant them each year so a basic rootball is left intact. Wes, (Kansas), does that each year. Haven...

Erik, Looks like it has been having trouble re establishing itself in the ground this year, the root system may not have expanded enough to support the size of the plant. Did it go through any trauma last winter? I would trim the leaves, dig it up and and containerize it till it recovers. Check the ...

Erik, They love heat, humidity, and lots of water when it's warm. I would think one in a container would enjoy your summers, getting it through winter might be the touchy part. Damp roots will cause problems during the cooler months, best to use a well draining mix. (most of these seedlings from the...
