Barb that would be so cool to get one of your pomegranate seedlings. We look forward to your visit. I`ll wait on the Trachy seeds till they turn black on the outside skin. These seeds should have some cold hardy provenance as this Trachy has seen close to -18c 0f for 3 out of 6 years since planted. ...

This male Trachy wasn`t waiting around for a date with a female to produce seeds :shock: It looks to have about 40 seeds on it. I was going to cut the flower stalks off like I did last year. Barb the exact same rot happened to my bottle palm you got for me. By the time you realize there is a problem it`s to late. I regularly spray hydrogen peroxide into the crown of my tropical palms after losing the big Bottle palm. Good that you had yours two years longer than mine.

Thanks Jim. I was thinking that as well. Mike thanks. I put them into a double car garage. It is getting more packed every year as they grow. I`m glad I sold quite a few so far this year. Makes more room for the bigger ones 8) .

Thanks Barb.. I`m already tipping the pots over on three of my palms and bananas in the palm garage and it has a 12" ceiling. PS. don`t remind me of what happens in Nov :shock: . Going to be near 100f on Monday. 94f here today 8) . Scorching heatwave time til mid Oct.!!!!!!

Barb the T. nainital? will be planted next week. It will take over my largest palm planted. The background is our yard cause I still have to mow 3/4 of an acre of it :shock: .

Bought some more palms!

I couldn`t turn down the deal for these three palms. Two Trachy`s, and one Butia capitata 600.00 for the three 8) . The one Trachy has 4 1/2" ft of trunk. It also looks to be either a hybrid Waggy x fortunei or T. nainital very stiff fronds with no droop on the ends at all. Any thoughts from P....

Barb I bought two large Trachy`s and a large Butia capitata from the buy and sell here. The ad was in for two months. I offered him half of what he was asking for all three. I think the fact that he knew they were going to a good home was why he sold them so cheap. Pics soon.

Tim it has grown so slow for the last three years that the total height is about 32". By the end of summer it should have some good new growth with the fronds getting much larger and healthier. 8)

Barb your fip flops will be melting real soon. We have had cooler than normal spring and now the heat will be with us until Oct. Turned on the air conditioning today 29.5c 87f . Jesse glad your able to do some planting. The plants roots need a early head start.

Barb the W.filibusta should make it. What were the low temps it saw last winter? Tavi I believe those large Washy`s are from Pensylvania. A little warmer than Chicago in the winter. http://home.ptd.net/~mishele/webpage/index.htm

Barb the Washy`s look great. Glad they made it. I think the one Washy is a W.filibusta if I remember correctly from three years ago. That would explain why it`s not doing as well as the pure filifera. Big boy is going to need a taller roof soon. :lol:
