It's crazy how that happened too. The higher elevations (ie Mt. Washignton ) were warmer in 40s to 60's and the cold Arctic air found its way down into the valleys and froze everyhting...Nuts!

You have strange things happening over yonder. I see that they had record warmth for Alaska at Prudhoe bay when they registered 39F in permanent darkness up there. Much farther south in Lakeview Oregon they set an all time low of -27F breaking the all time record of -24F set on January 15th 1888. :...

our first snow storm hit today at around 12:00 pm, EST. in two odd hours or so we have about 6.5 inches on the ground and it is still snowing. Supposed to turn to rain later tonight as warmer air comes in off the coast...I'll post pics l8r. It is a beautiful light fluffy kinda snow
