I noticed this spring after the temps warmed up over the 60 f, my j-trees started to show major winter damage on the spears. Almost every spear on every one of the them has damage. I believe they will be just fine, but strange to have so much damage after the warmest winter I have seen in my garden ...

I did have a few seeds sprout, but I let them get to dry when very little and they died. I would be very weary of them living through a zone 5 not covered, but I'm sure it's possible. I believe there is a few different forms or subspecies out there, and I'm sure they all different cold tolerances. A...

What temp/duration finally killed your Ocotillo? It looked good all winter, it was in the late winter/spring that it started to rot. It was a cold winter, and I had it covered.
