Just my two cents, infra-red bulbs will incinerate any palm in a palm hut cycling on and off. Plus in a colder climate light bulbs work better dispersing heat then heat cables, there cheap too! They also work longer then you think if you don't smash them around  Heat cables in your area are mor...

Very nice Job (Kory?) if I remember correctly! Your palms and yuccas look fantastic and your protection will surely do the trick. No heat cables on the surface this year to burn up the feeder roots? Live and learn right  you'll gain 1-2 feet of trunk this year with your new method. :D :D :D :D...

That's great news! You've been looking for a Birmy for some time now. You'll be surprised how fast that actually grow Paul, mine put out 5 full fronds since Feb. and almost has 6 open, not bad I'd say. My regular minors only put out 2-3 SLOWWW! Is your brazoria that amazing gun metal blue color? The...

Tim, Your trachies are looking wonderful, they really love it at your place. I'm surprised your new trachy only put out the one frond, next year it will reward you I'm sure. Did you try again this year with your basement grow room? I saw your snow pictures the other day on the other board, pretty fu...

Paul, I keep toying with the idea of using the t2 thermocube which turns on at 20f. Most likely I would be ok since all three of mine are 10 tall with huge carb reserves, place if the sun is out they get it all day which would easily heat the huts to above freezing. I'll most likely try it and let y...

Paul, that post on the big board was spot on. I wish more people answered your question as it was better then the weather maps that seemed to be a hit topic. Reason why I don't post on that board to often. Neadles and sabal minor with a trunk wrap of wall of water with hay pack did great with a low ...

Nice doc Jim, this looks some what similar to my washies last year. I don't think mine showed that dark of a color from my low which was maybe a bit colder and longer last year. My temps hit the low 70's that day which might have helped correct the dark color. 25f this year so far only gave minimal ...
