Most of the time we are a few degrees warmer then Toronto in the winter but I've seen almost 10 degree differences ...

As for the minor and the needle palm I don't really protect them. I spray them with wilt-pruf and cover them with leaves. That's it. The windmill sits in a plywood box with a few Christmas lights from December-February. Same for the fan palms.

What do you do with the plumerias in the winter time? Are they in the ground now? The plumeria comes out of the ground once it starts to drop its leaves in the fall. I pot it in dry soil and and it stays in my garage over the winter. They key is to keep the soil dry and give it at most a cup or two...

CIDP goes inside for the winter in my garage.

Looks like shock. Heated protection in the winter then sudden exposure to cold will do it.

Had some time today so I removed the protection on a few of my palms. Windmill is protected by a foam box with xmas lights on a thermocube. Yes the Plumeria drops most of its leaves.

I simply take it out of the ground after the first frost and pot it. It stays in my garage and I give it ONE cup of water half way through the winter. Come April it goes back in the ground and by May it flowers.
