Huge Nova Wilailak Variegata

Hey Wes, it was good to talk to you recently. We discussed making a permanent home at your place for a " one of a kind plant." I still think a 'grape fruit size' Nova Wilailak Variegata would make a nice addition to your collection, don't you agree? If so, we'll ship it when it gets a litt...

Cycas Taitungensis

I don't know what you're excited about Wes. A Taitungensis that size will normally put out a 11 ft. to 16 ft. spread. I got one at Disney World (adjacent to Space Mountain) with a 16 Ft spread with a smaller trunk than yours. However, your leaves may not be as healthy sinse it's indoors, but look pr...

Zamia Floridana "wide Leaf"

If I were you Wes , I would plant the Floridana very deep (about 2-3 inches of soil over the bud of the plant) This will give it support for the leaves. And posibly you may not lose the leaves (as is the usual case when you bare-root a zamia Floridana) After all, it is a sub-terrainian plant natural...

Cycad seedling's broken tap roots

This happens often even with extreme carefulness, but a little fungacide, planted in a well drained medium, and kept dry for about 10 days should heal your tap root. Spinulosum is NOT a full sun plant

If you want nice looking leaves.....when the leaves are emerging....a 66% shade/34% sun is perfect. My statement was meaning not more than 30% sun and certainly not full sun (or you will have some very yellow ugly leaves). My Spinulosum never see "full sun" and I have about 2,000 total wit...

Cycas 'Nova Wilailak' caudex splitting

Wes, from what I see, there is no cause for alarm. The splitting seems to be mostly sub-terrestially and will actully be advantageous for the plant, because it will give it twice the ability for future growth., My experience with Cycads from Thailand is that they will get a large fat bulbous looking...
