Hello marcel, Your plants looks great, with a very nice compact growth. I can see on the photos, that many of your Yucca has the base of the plant above the surface. I have a suggestion for you, based on personal experience. I have noticed, that if a new Yucca is planted a little deeper, than one wo...

Hello Mario, Thanks for the climate info. Your winters are somewhat like those we have here in Northern Denmark, but the humididty is probably much lower, here it's usually around 80-95 % most of the year, except in very rare cold winters when the wind is blowing from North East or East, in such tim...

Hello Mario, Thanks for showing us your fine find at Zagreb botanical garden. Yes, this plant could be identical with the plant I grow as Yucca Karlsruhensis Type 2, but only if the plant in the photo is grown in shade, while it's missing the quite distinctive red bracts, otherwise it's very much id...

Hello Marcelli, To me, does the plants you have received not look as Yucca glauca, the leaves are way too wide, and they don't show any sign of fibers either, which they should at this size. How does the roots and rhizome look? The 3rd. photo is stolen from my website, it's Yucca 'Elena's Star' (a n...

One of my favorite Yuccas will bloom this year :-)
Hello Andy, At the moment it's the only Yucca in which I have noticed a flowerbud. So I have to hope for donations of pollen from other Yucca growers world wide. The all time record in our garden is 62 flowerstalks in one summer :-) But this will not be happening this year or any of the nearest year...

Hello Andy, Do you have some photos of the flowers? Is the leaves serrated? If they are serrated it could be a Yucca reverschonii or just a narrow leafed form of Yucca rupicola. I forgot, The reason why we get so much snow in our garden, is that we have farmers fields on 3 sides of our garden. So if it snows with just a little wind from either W, NW, N, NE, E or SE, the snow from maybe 25 to 35 hectares will end in our garden. In the snow-rich winter of 2009-10 the minimum ...

Adam, Your plants looks great. But I have no idea what the first Yucca is, it's NOT aliofolia. Is the leaves serrated or not? I have an advice for you. Plant your young yuccas deeper, when you plant them, this seems to make the plants grow faster, when they are planted too high they grow slower, and...

You are absolutely right. The 4 last winters has been quite hard on out plants. The four winters were very different from each other, so those plants which did survive the snow pressure and the long snow cover in the winter of 2009-10, were killed by one of the following winters: 2010-11 1 meter of ...
