Re: Yucca brevifolia

Here is an updated J-tree pic. Also someone was asking how tall and wide? Its hard to get a height, but is about 8'5" and the trunk base is about 9". It has began to lean so not much growth in the height. I'm hoping this will correct its self later in the future. http://unkowndestination.blogspot.co...

Re: desert garden blog

Dear Aaron, it's really sad to see a winter damage on your plants! Sorry for your harsh winter... By the way what was a minimum winter temperature? One more question: what is an evergreen shrub on one of the pictures? The minimum temp was -16 or -18F, was one of the coldest I have seen in the garden.

Would you please specify were this "Warm water fish in the warm springs" is located? It's too funny seeing Eastern Africa Grate Lakes chichlid fishes in USA... Surprised!
Sorry it took so long to reply.
They were in warm water springs, and that is how the alligators survives the winters also.

Nice pics, love those stressed out cacti. The colors are awesome, reminds me of aloes in spring. That agave v-r is huge, the one in bloom at PDN is only about 18" wide. But with the lack of precip and nutrients will allow them to grow forever there. It will interesting to see the "stressed out cact...

Re: Loving this winter!

It hit 23 oC yesterday in Manzanita! It is 3 oC now in Tulsa. Chilly, but not bad. Esp. compared to five years ago today when it was "colder than the South Pole" with an all-time record low of -35 oC. So, no complaints from me. But, W stills wants us to move to Florida. :D Cool, I think Idaho might...
