They can reach a large size, I have seen one that was about 15-20 feet tall in Arizona :shock: I have two of them in my yard, but I protect them with plexiglass cases or what ever I can find that will work :wink: They have a lot better chance of making it through a winter if they are larger. Hi desert palms, I joined this site for the fact that if you can grow the cold hardy palms, yuccas, cacti, in zone 5b. I think I have hope to grow them here solid 6 to 6a in the Okanagan . Thanx for the info ,as I`m in zone 6 to 6a I will probably have to use some protection for our arctic blasts during Jan and part Feb. Welcome to the forum Flamingo. :D I would try to wrap the trachy up with burlap or something before you have a cold snap.
