They can reach a large size, I have seen one that was about 15-20 feet tall in Arizona :shock: I have two of them in my yard, but I protect them with plexiglass cases or what ever I can find that will work :wink: They have a lot better chance of making it through a winter if they are larger. I think...

That plant is about 7 years old :( , but they usually grow faster then that :D They pick up speed with age!
Cost here is around $7-7.50 range, or $5.00 if you pick them up from my place :D And if I have them in stock :?

The above recurvifolia only had about 4-5 leaves when it went into its first winter, and had no protection. It has done just fine :D

Good selection :D Most of those have done very well here :D Let me know how that Opuntia basilaris does? I have a couple of other basilaris that doe very well, but I don't think I have one like that. So...if it makes it let me know :D

Sorry, I better give more info.
It died before I got to see what it would do. I was so happy to have it, but then it all of a sudden died before winter? I think it did not like the trance plant or something :shock:

Hi desert palms, I joined this site for the fact that if you can grow the cold hardy palms, yuccas, cacti, in zone 5b. I think I have hope to grow them here solid 6 to 6a in the Okanagan . Welcome to the forum Flamingo. :D I would try to wrap the trachy up with burlap or something before you have a cold snap. Most of my yuccas are doing good :D my trunking filamentosa has not done much of anything this year, but I will keep playing around with it. But some have done very well, like my joshua trees.
I will get some new pics up later this summer or sooner I hope :D
