I'm affraid of my cordyline. It grows too fast. In comparision my fortunei have a 0,45 meter size.

My cordyline australis after winter 2010-2011

Hello guys! The spring is coming despite some freezes at night. It was a fine weather today and i opened my palm cover. Here is pic of my cordyline australis. It's looking fine after winter. It was -19 C this winter once.

Erik, thanks a lot for explanation! I have never used antifungal spray or other material. The succes is in not using things that can be rotten. No leaves inside palms shelter - no problem. 8)

Guys, what is the reason for covering palms with extra heat? Many palms will be able to survive without any extra heat under styrofoam boxes like it is doing my palms.

Look at this picture, please. You can see A. araucana in the Uzhgorod, Ukraine. Uzhgorod is located in zone 6b/7a, Zakarpattya. The mountain Karpati protected Uzhgorod from the cold North winds.

When the temperature drops below -5 C i will put on roof from the styrofoam. Last winter all of my plams (except phoenix dactylifera) overwintered with success. It was -27 C :shock: Last winter was very bloody. Usually we have about -20 C for 1-3 days every winter.
