Still Looking For Some Large Cold Hardys

Hey everyone, I am having no success in locating some good size cold hardys. I have tried Botanix, Valleyview gardens, Tropics.ca, and some others here in Canada. I would like to exhaust all possible avenues before having to drive to the South (however I would love to go on a trip to the south). Doe...

I called Wal-Mart here. They said they have a large order coming in this weekend. It was supposed to be there today. They didn't know what was on it, just that it was tropical. They tags only ever say "tropical plant" so you need to know what you are looking for. (last year I did not.) And...

You know I am kicking myself in the butt. Last year around this time, before I was tropical savvy wal-mart had a big shipment of different types of palms. I saw Chinese fan palms, a few different Phoenix types, pineapple, what I believe was jelly palms and others but not knowing I just figured they ...

A 10 foot greenhouse would be so nice! I have no greenhouse. I am going to attempt to make one this fall. That should be interesting!
Do you have pics of your greenhouse? 8)

I know a lot of people hate the majesty. I kinda understand them but at the same time if you know how to take car of them and what they need they are a very fast growing and beautiful palm. I would like to find one with a true trunk!
Talk to you later

Knnn,

What is a understory plant?

Also, a quick question, I planted my T. FOrtunei yesterday. Tonight (currently) it is 6c. It is supposed to rain...a lot...tomorrow. I went out and wrapped christmas lights around the base and middle shoots. DO you think I overreacted?

dlnoga, I am pretty new to this as well. The advice I got from the members here was very helpful. I was advised to plant in a raised bed to help with soil drainage. Palms really don't like sitting in any water however some like lots of water. I have a T. Fortunei I just planted in my from yard. Sout...

Knnn,

Do they still need to be kept really warm once they germinate? Reason I ask is because once I remove them from their little greenhouse I have no way to keep them really warm. I am using Christmas light under the containers now and it seems to be working well.
Any ideas?

I called but got an answering machine, it's almost 9pm here so I assume they are closed. Virginia is about 10 hours from here. That's not bad at all.
The larger ones are exactly what I am looking for, this is a major help.
