Actually, I have found several places that sell palms. Each location sells differnt ones. So I visit the different ones and they call to me..."pick me, take me home, I'm lonely"
I try to stay away from the box stores cause they are so cheap and I could buy everything in stock.

Hello!!!! Well, I went to get 2 rolls of sod at Home Depot and can upon one of those too good to pass up things. I think its a pygmy date palm...if anyone thinks different let me know. Thank you. I will start that tomorrow. I have added the jobes palm food spike, actually I added 2. I don't suppose the damaged leaves will recover?? Probably not. It was so pretty. Oh well, I knew from the beginning these were crap, but they look so nice.

The Maj is getting lots of attention now, including palm spikes and Epsom showers. Its out of the wind and has lots of filtered light. So, well see, if it dies then I am out $10.00.

How much of these salts should I mix into how much water? AND...should I use the jobes as well as the salt???....AND, it's only 7C right now and even cooler tonight, PALMETTOMAN, you said yours are outside, how? do these temps not kill it?..AND...no just kidding!!

I check it all the time for those...I hate those...eww..ewww..eww, anyway, I looked and there is nothing. It looks like it's drying up but I water it WELL everyday. I don't understand how it can go from being so nice to what it looks like now in a few weeks.

Ok, I know these things suck!! But I have had this one for 2 months now and up until a few weeks ago it looked great. I mist it everyday, it sits in partial light to shaded light, I water everyday, for about a week it sat in full sun until I read they like shaded light, so...what am I doing wrong???...

As far as the palms go, both of mine come from the south, I know the Windmill is from Georgia and the Robusta is from Florida (I think). I am sure they have never seen frost before. After several weeks of sunny warm weather (upper teens to low 20's) I find out we are supposed to get frost!!!!!!!! So, out come the christmas flood lights. I have put 2 at the bottom of each planted palm to keep the frost at bay. I put my hand on the tunks and they were warmer then the outside temp...

Its been sunny for about 2 or 3 weeks now. It's been in the mid to upper 60's and the last few days have been in the mid 70's. Today was 86 and humid. It's supposed to cool down next week to the lower 60's again.
