I hope not too!
But no spear pull, and I tried hard 3 times to get it to pull.
In the past I always had spear pull and the trunks would be soft and mushy.
It does worry me that the spear is fried, but my washy robusta has had the same thing with heat protection and it came thru ok.
Time will tell!!!

Thanks Barb,no copper,as the crown seem to be very dry,I think the spear pull is from the cold, not moisture related. Erik yes no heat,I'm surprised,as I have tried filifera many tim...

I've got a Tiger by the tail, and its easy to see!!!

Ginger is her name. Last summer, she came to my gardens and would hide in the clumping bamboo and stalk me with her eyes. But when I tried to get close to her, she'd run away. Update, long story short, now anywhere I sit down, she jumps in my lap wanting attention, petted and belly rub! She now sleeps in ...

My 2 cents on winter feeding

I think it depends on the palm. A under story palm, grows on a lot less sunshine, which would be a palm that good use winter feeding,as it is in active growing mode,I think the chameadorea family is one that can benefit from some winter feeding,as there are use to growing in a lot less sunshine, which ...

With temps at or above 58* today I went inside my palm hut and discovered one of my basjoos about 10ft tall fallen over.
