JESUS!!!!!!!! Thats rediculous. So after I repotted, some of the lower fronds were drying out and I had to cut them. So that is normal? Also, the trunk which used to be green has now turned brown. Looking at the pic, this is normal too. So my tree may not be dying? Maybe just dehydrated and I need t...

The soil is dark black under all the leaves and evergreen needles. Maybe this would be good for you? Find a housing development that is going up, and wonder ...

Just got a bunch of soil
Wondering if this would be good to grow Palms or a Rostada in.
It is very silty dirt that is basically dirt that used to be in the bottom of the river. Very Airy and moist, but dries on top very quick.

AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME instructions!!! They are Robusta. I got them from a guy in Wichita Kansas. I HOPEFULLY have a bunch of Filf coming from Las Vegas any day now. Are they about the same germination speed? The Robusta, I soaked for 24 hrs, sowed in wet perlite-peat in a baggie, put on top of heatin...

They only have about an inch root right now. No leaves or anything.
Should I pull out and plant in potting soil yet?
If so, how deep do I put the seed?

My Washy Robustas have germinated
Looked at the bottom of the baggie tonight and saw 5-6 tiny roots. What I would LIKE to do, instead of keeping in a comunnity pot and risk roots winding each other, I'de like to put them in individual flats. Is this smart? If so, when do I do this? Do I keep them in the same peat that they are germi...

I know, I am busy on the boards today.... Just got a call from my friends down in Lake City, Florida (just outside of Jacksonville) and they said they went out and found a bunch of seeds. Hello Dr. My advice is to keep them potted. I did repot mine taking the other three out and repotting the biggy. Well it is still alive, but it doesn't look good at all. I am afraid for the future of it. My old one, which I have had for about 6-7 months now was potted in the store with 4 others. Ove...

The transplanted PDP I bought for $8.00 was transplanted a couple weeks ago. I just noticed that the cut branches that were trimmed to form the trunk are turning brown. OK, what next for Trachy??
I checked some of the baggies with Fortunei seeds that Joe sent sent me. I spotted some (didn't check all of them) that had a white root (presumably) growing.
Now, do I wait until I see a green leaf, then pot them, or do I do it now in potting soil with sand and pine bark?

lower spikes dying
The lower spikes are turning yellow then black and dying at a rate of 3-4 every 4-6 days.
Am I not waering enough. I water sparingly, like with a cup every 10 days.
I have not taken it outside yet to saturate since I bought it. It has been too cold.
This is the only thing I can think of.

Epson Salt?
I heard of folks putting this into palms.
Wal Mart had it $2 a bag so I got some.
Do I use it when I feed my palms? I already use a 20-20-20 "Peter's" food and "SuperThrive".
Should I use it too or just use the epson salt on my lawn?

Pygmy Date Palm repot question
I was going thru "Home Depot" today and found a Pygmy Date that had 4 trees in it. Two are dead/dying, one near death, but one HUGE (at least for what I have seen, about a 2' trunk) tree. I talked them into $8.00 for it. What I would like to do is take the big one and pot it all by it self...
