Great yard! Love the Pheonix!! The Yucca is great......must be one of those rostrata x rigida types since it has 'U' shaped leaves. Let us know if that form is hardy in your area. Rigida is less hardy than rostrata (rigida is more of a zone 8 plant where rostrata is more like a zone 6 plant). I hop...

It really slowed the trachys recovery this spring and now its too hot to grow we will see how it looks come october i guess, i may have to protect it this year.lucky1 wrote:That CIDP takes my breath away.

Ultimate low i seen on my outdoor thermometer was 6 degrees but we did have almost 2 weeks where it barely got above freezing, no large snows this year maybe 6 inches was the biggest that i received at my house. Are you in SLC? If I recall correctly from other posters in that area it is generally 6b or 7a depending on elevation and proximity to the lake. I've not seen a CIDP from that area before, that's impressive. Do you happen to know if that really old, really rough looking T. fortunei in SLC is still ...

No there is not really many desert plants around here, there are some at peoples homes and slc has a very big joshua tree. They are usually in specific planters with pretty much gravel as soil they survive the cold here but must have excellent drainage to do so. In st george joshua trees are everywh...
